Declaration Lilac is a compact deciduous shrub with a denser upright habit and rounded crown.  Its medium green foliage yellow to gold tones in fall.  Long panicles of deep red-purple buds open to highly fragrant flowers the same shade that soften to light purple with age and bloom heavily from early to mid spring.  Best flowering with full sun and rich, moist well-drained neutral soils.
